Wednesday 11th December - walks ** – Felixstowe country circuit – cloudy.

Another gloom, dull chilly day here in Felixstowe without a hint of sunshine so had a nice lay-in, with no plans today Mag did some cutting back in the garden, the cats even joined in while I did my exercises. My heel is playing up making walking painful so got the ball rolling for an injection in my foot like I had the last time I had plantor fasciitis! I took rolls out for a picnic but after a late breakfast and the gloomy weather we couldn’t get the enthusiasan to sit out so after a quick snack we drove to Gulpher Road with the intention of taking a footpath towards Falkenham. After taking some pics of the huge pile of sugar-beet we parked at the duck pond and walked back up the road to the farm track leading to Hill House Farm past the only footpath sign we saw:( We spooked a large hare which whizzed off before we turned right past Brick Kiln cottages spotting a deer and marsh harrier. It is a nice wide farm track but we were not sure where to go and walked right past the footpath on the left and ended doing a circuit of a large field which passes by the start of Kings Fleet hearing another deer, a cormorant and a couple of swans. With my heel hurting we made our way back to the van after only covering just under a couple of miles, home for a very welcome cuppa and yummy Lidl mince pie:)

PS - was chuffed to get a pic on BBC's Look East tonight, Maggies back again:)
